Responsibilities:
The Junior R Developer supports a range of development tasks across our portfolio of analytics projects. Example projects include supporting existing code base, impact analytics, automation of science analytics tasks, and developing new innovative approaches to complex challenges.

Required Education, Certifications, Skills, Capabilities:
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related technical field.
• Experience programming in R and with R Shiny development.
• Experience with version control (Github).
• Experience with virtual machines and Docker.
• Demonstrated ability to work as a team contributor with a mission focus and emphasis on service, integrity, and excellence.
• Attention to detail.
• Demonstrated ability to work as a team contributor with a mission focus and emphasis on service, integrity, and excellence.

Desired Education, Certifications, Skills, Capabilities:
• Experience programming in R, or other language.
• Experience developing web applications with R Shiny.
• Visualization experience.
• Scientometrics.
• Record of innovation and creative problem solving.

Duties
The duties of this position shall include, but are not necessarily limited to (and not listed in priority order):
• Reports to the Info Sciences Lead.
• Supports analytics development tasks as assigned.
• Supports custom tool development.
• Maintains and develops existing R code.
• Supports innovation projects as assigned.

Primary Work Location: Arlington, Virginia
Special Work Conditions: Periodic travel travel to other CONUS locations possible. Occasional work outside of corporate core business hours.
Security: Must have the ability to obtain a US secret security clearance if not currently cleared.
